University Golf Course
The University Golf Course is the host facility for the PGA Golf Management program, as well as the University Intercollegiate Golf teams and the Golf and Sports Turf Management program. The facility is owned and operated by the University and is open to the public. Since January 2015, the golf course has been under the management of the PGA Golf Management program in the College of Business. In addition to using the University Golf Course as a living laboratory for PGA Golf Management, we host all of our Student Association tournaments at the golf course and utilize the practice facilities for PGA seminars.
The par 71, championship layout plays over 6,600 yards for men and over 5,300 yards for women. In 2012, a new practice facility was built, in addition to the existing practice facilities, that is now available exclusively for PGA Golf Management students and players on the University Intercollegiate Golf teams. It includes a 22,000 square foot practice tee, an 8,500 square foot putting green, and an 80,000 square foot short game area.
The clubhouse offers a full service golf shop, men's and women's locker rooms, snack area, a golf instruction studio, and two club repair centers. One of the club repair centers if designed for instructors to educate students on how to perform basic club repair practices, to include: how to grip golf clubs, adjust lie and loft angle, and how to measure golf clubs.
In addition, the University Golf Course hosts the Playing Ability Test (PAT) once each semester. Listed below are some of the golf course’s accomplishments:
